SP books is releasing a limited edition of only 1,000 copies of the complete original Ms of ‘Frankenstein’. You can see it in all its glory, Percy and Mary’s notes to each other, as well as the evolution of edits. I’m lucky enough to have been able to pour over the original in person, I was granted time to study it at the Bodley in Oxford years ago. It is amazing and it offers a secret glimpse into how Shelley and Mary worked together.
It’s pricey, though, at $230 Us dollars/180 UK pounds (free shipping). But what a treat. And heck yes, I ordered one. For those unable to purchase this one, it appears there will be a second, unnumbered, edition at a later point, but I’ve no idea when.
